The TṛtīyaViśva-Veda-Vijñāna-Sammelanam (VVVS), is being jointly organized by Vijnan
Bharati (ViBha), and Deccan College, Deemed University, Pune from the 10 th to 13 th January,
2018 at Pune. The focal theme is “Vedic and Modern Sciences: Insights, Interfaces and
Integrations”, which reflects objectives and mission behind this program.|
Many renowned personalities like Shri. Devendra Fadnavis , Honorable CM, Maharashtra, Shri.Manohar Parrikar, Honorable CM, Goa , Shri. Vinod Tawde , Honorable Minister for Higher & technical education, Maharashtra have kindly agreed to be the Chief Patrons of this event. Many other distinguished and outstanding scientists Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, Dr. V. K. Saraswat, Prof K. I. Vasu, Dr. Madhavan Nair, Prof Govind Swarup and Prof VN Rajasekharan Pillai are mentors for this event.
An Expo will be arranged in the conference. In the Expo Indian Traditional Sciences will be exhibited. The inaugural function of the Conference and Bhūmipūjana of Expo were held on August 11, 2017, at 9.30 at Deccan College, Deemed University, Pune. The occasion was graced by the presence of Smt. Mukta Tilak, the Mayor of Pune; Mr. Yogesh Gogawale, Pune-city President of Bharatiya Janata Party; Mr. Mahesh Karape, Pune-city Secretary of Rashtiya Svayamsevak Sangha; Prof. Vijay Bhatkar, Chancellor, Nalanda University; Prof. Vasant Shinde, Vice Chancellor of Deccan College, Deemed University; Prof. Nitin Karmalkar, President of Deccan College Poona Trust and Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune Univeristy; Dr. G. B. Deglurkar, former president, Deccan College, Deemed University; Mr. Jayvanta Mohite and Mr. Murlidhar Bendre, trusty, Deccan College Poona Trust.
While welcoming the guests Prof. Shinde said, “At the age of second centenary, it is a proud occasion for Deccan College to be an organizer of 3 rd VVVS, as Deccan College is a hub of teaching and research of traditional knowledge; and Veda itself means traditional knowledge and knowledge systems.”
Dr. Vijay Bhatkar explained the importance and need of the event. He said, “Today, in spite of tremendous strides in science and technology as well as economic development, the world is facing enormous environmental, ecological and ethical challenges that are threatening the very survival of human kind. Some thought leaders and distinguished scientists have gone to the extent of stating that this will be the last century for humanity unless we shift our concept and paradigm of development and progress. There is an urgent need of changing our world view through the harmony of man, machine and nature.
It is widely believed that the insights of future development are rooted in the Vedic perspective (Indian Knowledge System) that sees the whole world as one family and in fact enunciates oneness of the whole universe. Keeping this view in mind the focal theme of the VVVS is "Vedic and Modern Sciences: Insights, Interfaces and Integration."
Honorable Mayor of Pune Mukta Tilak explained the contribution by Lokamanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak to the theme of the congress. She expressed her confidence in citizens of Pune that they will actively participate in the forthcoming Sammelan in January 2018.
Prof. Nitin Karmalkar expressed his active support to the Sammelan.
